Frites de Mer was founded by Tijno Verkerke. Years of eating crisp, honest seafood along the Mediterranean – and too often getting batter instead of seafood back home – led to one question: why can't professional kitchens get the real thing?

With a background in food marketing and hands-on kitchen experience, Tijno developed a range that does exactly that: authentic Mediterranean seafood, lightly dusted, frozen and ready to fry. Today Frites de Mer is served by hospitality businesses in the Netherlands and is expanding across Europe.
